Using Mantra to Invoke the Wisdom of Tara: Access Your Wise and Authentic Self

During this session you will learn the origin stories of Tara, a powerful woman who, in the early centuries of the first millennia, turned the prevailing ideas about women’s capacity to attain enlightenment upside down. Wisdom Moon, who ultimately evolved into the female Buddha Tara, was a courageous woman, completely certain of her own knowledge and capabilities. Based on her years of devoted practice and her profound wish to be of benefit to all beings, she made a revolutionary vow: to attain full awakening only in the form of a woman.

Imagine how this story applies to you in your own circumstances! How might you, standing in confidence about your strengths and care for yourself and others, change the world in meaningful and powerful ways? How will your development become a beacon for other women to follow?

We will do short Tara practices, including recitation of her mantra. Mantra practice is an ancient form of meditation that improves health, sharpens awareness, deepens wisdom, and generates great compassion for the world in those who use it. All parts of you will be engaged. Intellectual understanding alongside the physical experience of the resonant mantras in the body provides a foundation for further practice.

You will leave this session with a practice that you can do under any circumstances. You will have a sacred tool for calming the nervous system under stress, which translates into better decision making for you and those you lead. This method is also wonderful for magnifying joy when it appears, and bringing more energy into your life!
