Connection-Based Leadership©

Our research shows that connection is the base for all success, individual and collective. We cannot be fully actualized as leaders, let alone human beings, without authentic connection and meaningful relationships with others. As a result, our development programs include the following three critical components:

Sponsorship

Our proven, structured Sponsorship programs aim to empower underrepresented groups, focusing particularly on advancing women’s leadership. Our Sponsorship programs create a formal relationship between a higher-level sponsor and protégé with defined expectations and timelines. These programs equip influential executives with the tools to actively advocate for those they sponsor, fostering growth and visibility. Unlike traditional mentoring, this Sponsorship carries a personal stake, making it a more impactful and inclusive diversity initiative.

Peer Mentoring

Our highly-effective “Power of We” approach is fundamentally different from either self-organized or corporate-driven peer networks. Instead, it honors the needs of individual women, while linking those needs to their experiences with the organization, all within a formal structure and program.

Peer mentoring of this type empowers women participants to create a new leadership paradigm for themselves and envision their future, in an inspiring and meaningful way, with the organization.

Networking Redefined

We support many levels of connection across the organization to help our leaders maximize their impact and influence. Developing varying layers of relationships across functions, departments, roles and levels is essential to becoming more visible and effective as a leader. SPONSORSHIP:
The Key to Advancing Women’s Leadership

We help organizations build Sponsorship programs where internal influencers are leveraged as key players in the advancement of women and other underrepresented groups.

Sponsors are executives with influence that use their organizational clout to advocate on behalf of their sponsees. They actively look for opportunities for their sponsees and make them visible when they are not in the room.

While this practice has been the norm for corporate men, women are more likely to get mentoring support (advice and job specific training) than they are a formal Sponsor.

Sponsors have their own facilitated Power Circle where they meet for mutual support and best practice training and advocate on behalf of their protégés.

Sponsors grow a personal stake in the success of the women they sponsor, which helps spread the effects of the program wider and deeper and also ensures men are involved. As Sponsors witness their sponsees grow, the feel not only pride but are rewarded with renewed engagement. These are the key elements that differentiate our approach from conventional peer learning or gender diversity initiatives.
